Dr. Jakkrapatara “Fair” Boonruang is a Research Physician at the Institute of HIV Research and Innovation (IHRI) in Bangkok, Thailand — one of Asia-Pacific’s leading organisations in HIV research, prevention, and community-led health services. He is also a recipient of the prestigious Mark Wainberg Fellowship (Asia-Pacific cohort) from the International AIDS Society (IAS).
His clinical and research expertise spans HIV and STI screening, prevention, and treatment; PrEP and PEP provision; sexual health consultations; and gender-affirming hormone therapy (GAHT) for transgender and gender-diverse individuals.
Practising at Pribta-Tangerine Clinic in Bangkok, Dr. Fair provides hormone therapy for transgender and gender-diverse individuals alongside a full spectrum of sexual health services, integrating affirming care within a community-oriented, LGBTQ+-centred clinical environment. His work is grounded in both frontline practice and research — including clinical trials focused on key pop4ulations — and he has publicly advocated for gender-affirming hormone therapy to be included in national health schemes globally so that access is not limited by geography or socioeconomic status.
